Traveling Beyond the Planet

I have always been a victim of some insane dreams. From romance, drama, thrillers to adventure, action, sci-fi, and many more, it has been of different genres like movies. Here I am sharing such a crazy dream I ever had till date.

They say ‘live your dreams’, I say ‘live in your dreams’.

01 Oct 2018

That was just another lonely night. I went to bed early as I was exhausted after a hard day’s work. I had no idea when I woke up. However, when I did, I was not in the place I slept off.

I stood up and tried to focus my blurry eyes. As my vision got clearer, it seemed as if I was in deep trouble.

“Where am I?” I asked myself.

And why was I wearing only a bath towel?

“Where are my clothes?”, I screamed in shock.

I was in a tiny room with large wooden walls on four sides. The room was scaringly dark with a single door which hardly allowed any light to come through.

Moreover, finding a way out of the building was an arduous task. The exit was so complicated that it took hours for me to finally make a way out. When I walked out of that maze, I realized that it was a large building. There were hundreds of small rooms separated by wooden walls, empty. There was not a soul in sight, not even a fly. I was cold with fear not knowing what to do next.

“Did I just travel through time?” I muttered.

When I came out of the building, I saw only deserted land around.

Without any specific direction or goal, I wandered in that unfamiliar land. After a considerable distance, I heard voices coming from beyond a giant stone wall. Somehow I managed to climb it and jumped across to the other side. I saw ten to twelve people working on farms. To tell the truth, I was ecstatic to find some human faces eventually. I figured they would help me get back home. Full of hope of I walked towards them. When they saw me, instead of welcoming, they picked stones and threw it at me. In fact, they didn’t let me say a single word. I was left with no option but to run away from them as fast as I could. I was disturbed by their actions.

I had reached another part of that world. I kept walking, seeking answers.

The next thing I found was some kids playing in the front yard of a school. It was a primary school to be more precise. The board of the school read (in my mother tongue Malayalam), ‘LOWER PRIMARY SCHOOL, CHOVVA’. Chovva is the word for Mars in Malayalam.

I was thunderstruck. Shaken- knowing the fact that I was on Mars, 225 kilometers away from earth. That was incomprehensible. I had no idea how I landed there. How and when I was teleported or abducted. I was thrown into an abyss of embarrassment.

Despite enjoying and leading a happy life on Mars, I woke up and got ready to go to work the next day.

Dreams are often incomplete. That’s why they are special. We often hope to see a continuation of many such dreams which we remember vividly. This was one amongst them for me, top in the list. And I am still eagerly waiting for a second part.
